For companies planning to open a branch or set up an overseas business bank account for a UK limited company a separate Apostille Certificate will be required for each document.

What does Apostille mean?

Apostille is a term commonly used to refer to the legalisation of official documents in order for the documents to be legally recognised in other countries.

Why would I get my documents apostilled?

Under the 1961 Hague Convention, documents that have been certified by a solicitor and then certified with a conformant apostille are legally recognised in all the member countries that have signed the Hague Convention.

Will an apostilled document be accepted by any country?

There are currently 125 countries party to the 1961 Hague Convention. If you plan to use documents in a country that is not a Hague Convention member, please email us for further advice.

How will my apostilled documents be delivered?

Your documents will be delivered by Royal Mail Special Delivery for UK return addresses or DHL service for overseas addresses.

Can you send my apostilled documents to someone else?

Yes. We can forward the apostilled documents to another individual or business. Simply give us your instructions and we will send the documents to the recipient specified by you.
